This Adagio was written as memorial to the writer Peter Fuller. It later would form the basis of the slow movement of David’s 6th Quartet, which we have played many times. I have directed this piece, in the string orchestra version recorded here, in the UK, the Czech Republic, and in Croatia-here with the sublime Zagreb Soloists.
