Walking and talking with Nigel Clarke in Clerkenwell and the City today, ending up with coffee under the fan-vaulting of Wren’s only gothic church.

It was a day of past and present, beginning, five minutes from St Pancras International, at the eponymous church on the hill tucked in behind. A 6th Century stone, the graves of Mary Woollstonecraft, J C Bach, Abel (well, he’s actually somewhere under the adjacent railway tracks), Sir John Soane, and the Hardy Tree(pictured). So here’s a conversation between Viotti and Clarke.
