Edmund Rubbra- Variations on a Phrygian Theme Op 103 (1963) this wonderful small set of variations was written for Fredrick Grinke as a 50th Birthday present in 1963. I have been looking at it, off and on, for many years, but had never taken the time to bring it to performance. I am delighted that I did, and can’t wait to bring it to the stage. Here, for now, is my temporary ‘at the desk’ reading (and it’s piece that the Girolamo loves!) Enjoy
