The Quartet Now
Peter Sheppard Skærved
Kreutzer Quartet
(Peter Sheppard Skærved, Neil Heyde, Morgan Goff, Mihailo Trandafilovski)
Never before has there been such richness and diversity of new works written for string quartet. The Kreutzer Quartet, dedicatees of hundreds of works by composers of all generations, stands at the centre of a truly eclectic flowering of new works for the medium.
The Quartet Now will bring together variegated aspects of this production, ranging from the documentation of workshop processes, filming and recording of rehearsals, performances and concerts, the collection of threads of interchanges around works by living composers, and the interweave between established figures and emerging talents.
It is aimed to use this umbrella, as much as possible, to bring together the many institutions, both in the UK and overseas, who are involved in the Kreutzers’s work.
